A Very Happy, Travelling 2011 to everyone!

Dear friends, Lushescapes wishes you a very happy and travelling 2011. We wish you visit some awesome places this year, be astounded by the beauty mother earth has to offer us, and travel in style, just the way you should!

So, it's that time of the year when all the lists about 2010 come out, so we give you our very own list - The top 5 places to check out in 2011! We think these places are beautiful, but are yet to come up on the tourist map in all their glory. We think they will this year !

Montenegro

The small republic of  Montenegro is squashed in between Croatia, Serbia, Boznia-Herzegovina and Albania but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up in natural beauty and a colourful history that includes intriguing tussles with Byzantium, and Ottoman conquests. Montenegro’s Adriatic coast is home to a myriad of picturesque villages and coves such as  Sveti Stefan.

Located smugly between Croatia, Serbia, Boznia - Herzegovina and Albania, the small republic of Montenegro is tiny, but has a lot of beauty and excitement to offer. With its colorful history, and picturesque villages, this is one amazing place which should be on your radar this year.

Palawan, Phillippines

Rated by Nat Geo as the best destination for 2011, Palawan is known for its coral atolls, mangroves and sandy beaches. One place which you should definitely land at this year.

Kurdistan, Iraq

Now, this is one country known for rather wrong reasons, but it houses one of the most beautiful places you can experience. With a history which is more rich than most countries in the world, and the simple minded people of Kurdistan, you are sure to step into another world here.

Istanbul, Turkey

Known as the European Capital of Culture, Istanbul is bustling with Byzantine and Ottoman relics and historical sites. While the Blue Minarets typical of this place remind one of the mystical, enchanting history, one can hang at any of its many modern and internationally known bars and cafes. A perfect example of history merging beautifully with moderism.

Where the Stars descended in 2010

Well, Celebrity ladies have always been setting trends. Be it fashion or be it charity, what they do is always in the limelight. So as 2010 draws to a close, we thought of checking some of the vacation spots these famous ladies picked this year. All of these vacation spots are breathtakingly beautiful, just like the ladies.

Charlize Theron - Bora Bora, French Polynesia

So the stunning beauty took some time off this year at the marvellous Bora Bora in French Polynesia. Having won several awards as the best beach in the world, Bora Bora would have sure swept Charlize off her feet with the beautiful beach landscapes, cabins over the water and breathtaking beauty.

Janet Jackson - Sardinia, Italy

Janet Jackson decided to relax at the beautiful Sardinia in Itay. The second largest island in the mediterranean sea, Sardinia is known for its sun beaches, camping activities and of course, the quaint, lovable Italian spirit. We are sure Janet would have loved it.

Michelle Obama - Marbella, Spain

Who other than the first lady herself visited the beautiful Marbella in Spain. Blue skies, broad sandy beaches and a rich history to entice one, Marbella is quite a wonderful choice for a vacation spot. Now it's complete another story that her lavish ways there attracted a lot of wrong attention!

Paris Hilton - St.Tropez, French Riviera

The moody Paris chose a vacation spot as vibrant as her personality - St.Tropez, French Riviera. A world of luxury yachts, exclusive beaches and lavish shopping. We are in no doubt when we say that Paris would have blown some serious bucks there.

So this was just a glimpse of the kind of vacations some famous ladies visited in 2010. We are sure you are excited to check out these spots now. So what are you waiting for, plan that trip now!

The Mesmerizing World Awaits, Let's Get Travelling !

Hello everyone, and welcome to this blog. We, at Lushescapes, passionately believe that there are very few things more alluring than travel and creating the right travel moments is nothing less than an art. This blog is only a tribute to this belief. It shall discuss travel and celebrate the wonderful world there is to see. So let's get started, and what better way than to talk about the glorious canvas of beauty and wonder that inspires it all - our Interesting, Beautiful and Mesmerising World.

Though the pearls scattered in this world are just too many to be counted, there are a few places which have continued to entice travellers since long.

One of them is Easter Island, located between Tahiti and Chile.

The Island is dotted with colossal statues shaped as human faces, and get this- Till date, it is unknown how these statues were made in spite of primitive technologies the earlier races had. Theories abound, and one of them says these were made by UFOs!

Or speaking of Interesting things, let's switch to Bird Island, Seychelles. An equally interesting, 170 acre Private Island which is an enchanting play of coral and sand. But what makes it even more alluring is this fact - It is also home to the World's Oldest living Giant Tortoise.

Esmaralda is 170 years old, which means it was born in 1840! Imagine meeting a tortoise who has seen so much!

Ok, now, we want you to look at the photograph below and imagine what on earth could it be!

This is an image of the boiling mud pools at Rotorua, New Zealand! A city in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand, it is known for its unique geothermal activity, and what results are amazing things like the one pictured above.

These are literally, not even the tip of the iceberg as the earth has so much to offer, it's only natural that all of us be astounded by it. This blog is going to celebrate all of it, and even help people experience this. So till the next post, let's mull over this deep thought by the great Mark Twain-

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
